Marco Paolini
Marco Paolini is an actor, a writer and a director. Considered as the father of the “narrative theatre”, following in the footsteps of Dario Fo, he writes and interprets stories that have a big impact on the society. He became popular after the broadcast by Rai Due, on 1997, of Il racconto del Vayont (The tale of Vayont). He has also explored the dark side of Italy with I-TIGI racconto per Ustica (I-TIGI tale for Ustica), Parlamento chimico (Chemical Parliament), U 238.
With the cycle of Bestiari (Bestiaries) he has told the changes of the society through dialects and poetry. Alongside these stories, Marco Paolini devotes himself to the great figures of Italian and world culture. This is the case of Jack London (Ballata di uomini e cani, 2012). He turned his look abroad with Bhopal 2 dicembre ‘84 (Bhopal December 2th 1984) and Ausmerzen, which for Einaudi he rewrote the text in literary form. Einaudi has also published Il Milione (The Million), dedicated to Venice, and Taccuino di lavoro (Notebook of work).
